Squash

Gee used to make this for Thanksgiving and used a combination of butternut and buttercup squash for the best flavor. The amount of butter and brown sugar is up to the cook and can be added at the end.

Ingredients

  • 1 butternut squash
  • 1 buttercup squash
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup butter (more or less to taste)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (more or less to taste)
  • Cinnamon (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Cut squash in half (there is no need to peel).
  2. Sprinkle salt and pepper onto the squash and place face down on a foil-lined cookie sheet.
  3. Bake for 40 minutes, then turn face up for 20 minutes or until squash is soft.
  4. Scoop the insides out of the squash into a bowl.
  5. Add butter, brown sugar, salt and pepper, and cinnamon, if desired.
