Squash
Gee used to make this for Thanksgiving and used a combination of butternut and buttercup squash for the best flavor. The amount of butter and brown sugar is up to the cook and can be added at the end.
Ingredients
- 1 butternut squash
- 1 buttercup squash
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1/2 cup butter (more or less to taste)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (more or less to taste)
- Cinnamon (optional)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Cut squash in half (there is no need to peel).
- Sprinkle salt and pepper onto the squash and place face down on a foil-lined cookie sheet.
- Bake for 40 minutes, then turn face up for 20 minutes or until squash is soft.
- Scoop the insides out of the squash into a bowl.
- Add butter, brown sugar, salt and pepper, and cinnamon, if desired.
