Make Ahead Potatoes

From Mike's mother - Once you bring these to a party, you'll be asked to bring them for the rest of your life, so invest in a good potato peeler. Also, try them with buttermilk.

Ingredients

  • 10 potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 1 stick butter
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • Just less than 1 cup scalded milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Breadcrumbs

Directions

  1. Boil potatoes until tender and drain.
  2. Add butter, cream cheese, milk, salt and pepper. Mix with hand mixer until smooth.
  3. Pour into a 9x13-in. pan. Top with thin slices of butter and dust with breadcrumbs. Cover with waxed paper and foil and refrigerate the day before.
  4. Reheat for 30 minutes at 350° before serving.
