Apple Crumb Pie

Thanksgiving apple crumb pie. If you hate to make crust, come on over to the Warner homestead Thanksgiving eve.

Ingredients

  • 4 large, tart apples
  • 1/2 recipe Plain Pastry
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup butter

Directions

  1. Pare apples, cut in eighths, and arrange in 9" pastry-lined pan.
  2. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar mixed with cinnamon.
  3. Sift remaining 1/2 cup sugar with flour. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
  4. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, then at 350° for 40 minutes, or until apples are tender.
