Apple Crumb Pie
Thanksgiving apple crumb pie. If you hate to make crust, come on over to the Warner homestead Thanksgiving eve.
Ingredients
- 4 large, tart apples
- 1/2 recipe Plain Pastry
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/3 cup butter
Directions
- Pare apples, cut in eighths, and arrange in 9" pastry-lined pan.
- Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar mixed with cinnamon.
- Sift remaining 1/2 cup sugar with flour. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
- Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, then at 350° for 40 minutes, or until apples are tender.
