Penne & Italian Sausage

Really good comfort food.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (19 oz.) can tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 lb. penne pasta
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Cut sausage into 1" pieces. In a large fry pan, cook sausage over medium-high heat until browned on all sides.
  2. Add onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper. Cook until onion is tender. Stir in cornstarch.
  3. Add milk, stirring until mixture comes to a boil and thickens.
  4. Add tomatoes and penne. Return to a boil.
  5. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until pasta is tender.
  6. Stir in mozzarella cheese and serve.
