Penne & Italian Sausage
Really good comfort food.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 cups milk
- 1 (19 oz.) can tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 lb. penne pasta
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
Directions
- Cut sausage into 1" pieces. In a large fry pan, cook sausage over medium-high heat until browned on all sides.
- Add onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper. Cook until onion is tender. Stir in cornstarch.
- Add milk, stirring until mixture comes to a boil and thickens.
- Add tomatoes and penne. Return to a boil.
- Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until pasta is tender.
- Stir in mozzarella cheese and serve.
