Cheeseburger Pie

Ellen served this once right after she married and Bob hated it. After 20 years she tried again and it was a hit.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beef
  • 1 Tbsp. minced onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 can refrigerated quick crescent dinner rolls
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese

Sauce

  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp. Italian seasoning

Directions

  1. Brown beef and drain off fat. Add onion, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and tomato paste. Blend well.
  2. Open rolls and separate into 8 triangles. Place in ungreased 9-in. pie pan, pressing together to form a shell.
  3. Pour meat mixture into shell. Top with cheese slices.
  4. Bake at 375° for 25-30 minutes.
  5. Serve with spicy sauce.

Sauce

  1. Mix tomato paste, butter, water, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat to boiling.
