Beef Stroganoff
Easy meal for Mom, major meal for Beth.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. round steak (1/4 - 1/2 inch thick)
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 (3-oz.) can mushrooms (do not drain)
- 1 package onion soup mix
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 Tbsp. flour
Directions
- Cut meat across grain in strips. Brown quickly in hot shortening.
- Add water, mushrooms, and soup mix.
- Heat to boiling (or longer to simmer meat).
- Blend in sour cream and flour. Cook and stir till thickened.
- Serve over hot rice or noodles.
