Strawberry Sorbet

Sweet and refreshing, but you do need an ice cream maker for this one.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • Pinch table salt
  • 4 cups strawberries, sliced

Directions

  1. Prepare a simple syrup with the water and sugar by combining both in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook mixture until sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Remove from heat and add salt and strawberries. Using an immersion blender, blend until smooth. Cover and refrigerate 2 to 3 hours, or overnight.
  3. Turn on ice cream maker; pour mixture into frozen bowl and let mix until thickened, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Sorbet will have a soft, creamy texture, but if a firmer consistency is desired, place in an airtight container and place in freezer for about 2 hours.

Makes about 5 cups
