Funnel Cakes

If you haven't made it to the carnival this year, now you can save yourself a trip. Don't try these at home if you're afraid of oil.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • Cinnamon sugar or confectioner's sugar

Directions

  1. Mix together all ingredients except cinnamon or confectioner's sugar.
  2. Deep fry in oil at 350° by pouring batter through a funnel into desired shape in oil. Let sit until golden brown.
  3. Remove funnel cake from oil using slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  4. Top with your choice of cinnamon sugar or confectioner's sugar.
