Apple Crisp

This came from one of Joan's teacher friends and she makes it often because she hates making crust.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Dash of salt
  • 1/2 cup soft butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 5-6 sliced apples (I use Granny Smith)

Directions

  1. Blend flour, sugar, salt, and butter. Set aside 3/4 cup for topping and press remaining in 8x8 pan for crust.
  2. Mix sugar and cinnamon and toss with apples. Spoon on top of crust.
  3. Add crumbs reserved for topping over apples.
  4. Bake at 375° for about 1 hour. (Watch that the edges don't burn.)
  5. Enjoy!

*Recipe is for 8x8 pan or double it for a 9x13 pan
