M&M Party Cookies

These were colorful even before blue M&Ms. You can change the colors with the seasons.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2-1/4 cups flour, not sifted
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1-1/2 cups plain M&M's

Directions

  1. Cream sugar, brown sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla.
  2. Pour flour onto waxed paper. Add baking soda and salt. Stir to blend.
  3. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Sir in 1/2 cup M&M's.
  4. Drop by teaspoonfuls or shape into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased baking sheet.
  5. Decorate cookies with remaining M&M's.
  6. Bake 375° for 10-12 minutes.
