Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
Golden brown butter brings warm caramel depth to these chocolate chip cookies, with delicate crisp edges, soft centers, melty chocolate, and a whisper of flaky salt.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup dark brown sugar (200g)
- 2/3 cup sugar (135g)
- 2 eggs at room temp
- 1-1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2-3/4 cup flour (340g)
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 10oz chocolate chips
- Flaky salt, to taste
Directions
- Brown butter and set aside until cooled to room temperature.
- Once cooled, add sugars and mix well. Add eggs and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add dry ingredients to butter mixture. Then fold in chocolate chips. Chill for 30 mins.
- Once cooled, roll into balls (about 2Tbsp in size) and place about 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
- Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes. Sprinkle with flaky salt.
