Strawberry Freezer Jam

You don't really need the recipe. It's on the Certo or Sure-Jell Fruit Pectin package, but we figured we should write it down so you will see how easy it is. Smucker's has nothin' better than this.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed strawberries
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1 box Sure-Jell fruit Pectin
  • 3/4 cup water

Directions

  1. Mix strawberries and sugar thoroughly. Set aside 10 minutes.
  2. Stir Sure-Jell with water in saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir mixture together until sugar is completely dissolved and no longer grainy.
  4. Pour into plastic containers. Cover. Let stand at room temperature 24 hours.
  5. Store in freezer. After opening, store in refrigerator.

Makes about 4 (8 oz.) containers

*Measure sugar and fruit exactly and do not change amounts or jam will not set properly. (This stuff is picky, but even if you do screw it up, it still tastes good.)
**If all that sugar grosses you out, they do sell a reduced sugar fruit pectin too.
