Chili Sauce

We've brought Vi's really spicy recipe down to a more mild sauce.

Ingredients

  • 20 large tomatoes
  • 6 onions
  • 12 hot peppers
  • 5-1/2 cups sugar, to taste
  • 4 cups vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp. salt

Directions

  1. Chop tomatoes, diced onions, and remove seeds from hot pepper. DO NOT TOUCH HOT PEPPER SEEDS, they will burn your fingers.
  2. Combine with remaining ingredients and simmer for 3 hours or until thickened.
  3. Ladle into sterilized pint jars.
