Caramel Butter Icing
Dick's favorite spice cake frosting. Be careful when icing or you'll tear the cake apart.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 6 Tbsp. milk
- 2-1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
Directions
- Melt butter in saucepan over low heat.
- Add brown sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Cool to lukewarm. Add milk and sugar a little at a time.
- Beat until icing is of spreading consistency.
