Waffles
Crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, these golden waffles will impress for family breakfast.
Ingredients
- 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Syrup and desired toppings
Directions
- Preheat waffle iron. The darker or higher the heat setting, the crispier the waffle.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Pour the mixture into the dry ingredients and stir together until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Grease the waffle iron with butter or cooking spray. Add about 1/3 cup of batter for each waffle or enough to cover the waffle maker.
- Cook until golden brown. Rest on a wire rack or in a warm oven (200°F) until ready to serve so they stay crispy.
- Serve with syrup or your favorite toppings.
