Waffles

Crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, these golden waffles will impress for family breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Syrup and desired toppings

Directions

  1. Preheat waffle iron. The darker or higher the heat setting, the crispier the waffle.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Pour the mixture into the dry ingredients and stir together until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Grease the waffle iron with butter or cooking spray. Add about 1/3 cup of batter for each waffle or enough to cover the waffle maker.
  5. Cook until golden brown. Rest on a wire rack or in a warm oven (200°F) until ready to serve so they stay crispy.
  6. Serve with syrup or your favorite toppings.
