Brazilian Limeade
A delicious, refreshing summertime drink. You can even add alcohol.
Ingredients
- 4 juicy limes (ideally with thin, smooth skins as they are the juiciest and not as bitter)
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 cup cold water
- 6 Tbsp. sweetened condensed milk
Directions
- Mix water and sugar and chill until ready to use.
- Wash limes thoroughly with soap and water to remove any wax and pesticides. Cut the ends off of the limes and cut each into 8ths.
- Place 1/2 of the limes in a blender and add 1/2 of the sugar water. Pulse 5 times and then strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher. Use a spoon to press the rest of the liquid through and dump the pulp. Repeat with remaining half.
- Add sweetened condensed milk and serve immediately over ice.
If the limeade is bitter, just add some more sugar or a little more sweetened condensed milk.
