Brazilian Limeade

A delicious, refreshing summertime drink. You can even add alcohol.

Ingredients

  • 4 juicy limes (ideally with thin, smooth skins as they are the juiciest and not as bitter)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 cup cold water
  • 6 Tbsp. sweetened condensed milk

Directions

  1. Mix water and sugar and chill until ready to use.
  2. Wash limes thoroughly with soap and water to remove any wax and pesticides. Cut the ends off of the limes and cut each into 8ths.
  3. Place 1/2 of the limes in a blender and add 1/2 of the sugar water. Pulse 5 times and then strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher. Use a spoon to press the rest of the liquid through and dump the pulp. Repeat with remaining half.
  4. Add sweetened condensed milk and serve immediately over ice.

If the limeade is bitter, just add some more sugar or a little more sweetened condensed milk.
