Philly Cheese Steak Stromboli
Great for tailgate parties!
Ingredients
- Premade Pizza Dough (one pizza dough - separate to make 2 Stromboli)
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 lb. roast or sandwich steak, sliced thin
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
- 1 medium onion, sliced thin
- 1/2 green bell pepper
- 1 small jar sliced mushrooms
- 2 jalapeƱos, seeded, washed and sliced
- 8 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded or sliced
- 6 slices provolone cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- Ranch or marinara (Optional)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400°. Heat large pan on medium-high heat. Add oil, place steaks in pan and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Add onions, bell pepper, jalapeƱo, and mushrooms and saute for 2-3 minutes, or until onions are lightly browned.
- Roll dough of 1 loaf to approx 9x13 rectangle. Pour half steak mixture down the center, leaving 2-1/2" of dough at edges uncovered. Layer 1/2 the cheeses on steak mixture, then fold in the sides and tuck and roll the loaf. Repeat with second dough.
- Place loafs, seam side down, on a greased baking sheet or foil. Brush outside of loaves with egg until completely covered. Cut thin 2" strips in top layer of loaves.
- Bake 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Cut and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce. Combine ingredients in food processor.
