Chex Mix

Mom used to make this for Club. In other words, off limits to the kids. I think that's why the Warners like it so much. Recipe direct from the Chex box.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup margarine or butter
  • 1-1/4 tsp. season salt
  • 4-1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 8 cups Chex cereal (corn, rice, wheat)
  • 1 cup salted mixed nuts
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks

Directions

  1. Melt margarine in open roasting pan in preheated 250° oven.
  2. Stir in seasonings.
  3. Gradually add cereal, nuts, and pretzels; stir to coat evenly.
  4. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  5. Spread on absorbent paper towels to cool. Store in an air tight container (or place in front of John if you don't want leftovers)
