Cheddar Gougeres
Found at Taste of Home, these cheesy little bites go fast.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup butter, cubed
- 2-1/2 tsp. kosher salt, divided
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 large eggs
- 1-1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup minced fresh chives
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
Directions
- Bring water, butter, and 1/2 tsp salt to a boil.
- Add flour and stir until smooth ball forms. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time and beat until smooth and shiny.
- Add cheese, chives, and garlic and drop by tablespoon onto greased baking sheet 1in apart.
- Sprinkle with remaining salt and bake at 375° for 14-16 minutes, until golden brown.
